"The Netherlands Board for Healthcare Institutions is challenging designers to explore the possibilities offered by building for the healthcare of the future within this dynamic environment.

The participants are required to search beyond the boundaries of individual professional fields: by collaborating, architects, consultants, urban and rural planners, visionaries, healthcare practitioners and health care managers could generate some innovative concepts.

The programme of requirements comprises the entire health facilities for a city of 160'000 inhabitants. From maternity care to terminal care, from help to intensive 24-hour care for the mentally disabled, and from simple outpatient practice to sophisticated treatment.
The programme is based on a total vision on healthcare in the city, possibly even the region."
